Which way do we go?
Everyone loves a good road trip, or even just a drive around town on a cool summer day. No destination in mind and nowhere to be at a certain time. Those are the good ol’ days of fun. But how often do you drive around site-seeing or try to find a certain destination and get lost? Do you just navigate until you find your way to where you want to go? Do you use a map, or rely on today’s modern-day technology, the GPS?
Before today’s technology you only had your common sense of direction, or a road map. It was not uncommon to get lost or take the wrong roads if you were not familiar with the area or reading a map. Traveling is so much easier now with the use of GPS (Global Positioning System). So many cars now have GPS navigation systems installed in them, making it easier to get from point A to point B. However, even with the built-in navigations systems you can still use our dash mat covers to protect your dash from the sun and dust. Our dash mat covers are designed to position around those navigation screens, allowing you a full view. The older cars that do not have a GPS installed can use a handheld device such as a mobile phone or dash mount style navigation device. You can even use a smart watch if you are smart enough to figure that one out.
But is GPS always 100% accurate? It has taken me down some wrong roads plenty of times, making me ask myself “which way do we go?”. But you have to keep in mind it is a manmade technical device and is entitled to make mistakes, especially with all the road construction always altering the route. My GPS system will alert me when there is construction, a wreck or any obstruction ahead and give me the option to reroute or stay on course. I find that to be very helpful. Often though, people use their GPS to determine how fast they can get to where they want to be. They look at the different route options to see what would allow them the best times. With so many GPS options to choose from, it is almost impossible to get lost or be late to wherever you are headed.
But if you do not want to use a technical device, you can always use Google Maps or Map Quest. They both have a really good layout that gives step-by-step directions to keep you on the right path. They even offer suggestions for restaurants and other amenities on the way.
